The things you will need to get eggs on FarmVille is chicken and a chicken coop. The coop was introduced in 2009. It is a storage place and it can hold up to 20 chickens. At the moment the coop is a gift item which can be purchased for 5000 coins or you can get it from a mystery egg. There is a limit which is one per farmer. If you already have a coop and someone gifts you another chicken coop then it will turn into a chicken.

A chicken coop can be used one every 24 hours and will make the total amount of coin per chicken. For example if you were to put in 15 chickens and they are harvestable for 6 coins per chicken you will make 90 coins. Once your chicken coop reaches 100% and it is ready to harvest there is a chance that you can receive a mystery egg. The mystery eggs can be one of many colours which are; white, brown, black or golden. Once you find a mystery egg then a pop up will appear for you to share this information on your news feed. Once you share this then you will find out what egg you have received.

Once posted up to 5 friends can click on this link and they will receive different items including different kinds of chicken. When the chicken coop is ready to harvest that is the time that you can get your eggs as well and if you have different chickens then there is more of a chance that you will get a chicken egg that is a different colour. To place a chicken in the chicken coop, click on a chicken and choose the move option. Then hover it over your coop and release it. When the chicken is hovered over the coop it will light up with a yellow outline, this means that your chicken is now in the chicken coop.

A normal chicken can be harvest for 8 coins and it will take a day for it to be ready for harvest. This will give a weekly profit of up to 56 coins and if you were to fill out the entire plot of land with chickens then your daily profit will be 896 coins. On the other hand you can sell the chicken for 20 coins. One thing to note is that the normal chicken is the cheapest of the lot and different coloured ones are worth a lot more with the golden one being worth the most which is 64 coins per harvest.
